Red Bull Hammers with Homies: brand new event partner for the Black Yeti

Madonna di Campiglio, Trentino, Italy

During the Easter weekend, April 16-17, the international finals of the Red Bull Hammers with Homies competition took place in Madonna di Campiglio, Trentino, Italy. Surrounded by magnificent views, the athletes competed in two team competitions during an intense weekend of sport, adrenaline and music: rail contest on Saturday and slopestyle on Sunday.

Why are you being told all this? As you probably know, last year the World Rookie Tour and Red Bull ratified the partnership for the winter closing event in Italy, the Red Bull Hammers with Homies international, and many of the rookies from our qualifying events had been invited.

From Finland, the “Kona Team” who won the invitation at the last World Rookie Finals in Kaprun, placed third in the rail jam on Saturday and the slopestyle on Sunday. The “Team Frenchies” from France, guests of the World Rookie Fest in Livigno, finished fourth in the rail jam as well as in the slopestyle. The Dust team also formed by old acquaintances from the rookie tour like Nick Puenter and Davide Boggio and, as well, new talents like Alex Lotorto, won the Hammers with Homies rail jam.

Going into the details of the event, the 15 crews from around the world had the opportunity to let loose their best tricks and show off their team creativity.

The shapers of Ursus Snowpark, in collaboration with F-Tech Snowpark Design, created a terrifying set of rails for the City Rail Contest on Saturday. A crowd of spectators watched and cheered as the 15 teams of 3 riders each were challenged by the Knock-Out system to the best of the single dry run. A race full of tension and adrenaline, which caught everyone’s attention. The Dust team, consisting of Alex Lotorto, Davide Boggio and Nick Puenter, won first place. In second place was the Nitro International Sick Dragons Slayerz 43 team with Alexis Roland, Simon Gschainder and Nils Arvidsson. Third place for the Kona team from Finland: Elias Hamalainen, Mitja Kauranen, Roni Aalto.

A real party for snowboarders and non-snowboarders who could continue to have fun dancing to the notes of the famous Italian hip hop artist “Salmo”.

On Easter Sunday, the competition moved to the top of the mountain at Ursus Snowpark, where it was the turn of the Team Slopestyle Battle. The format provided for the execution of two runs each with access to the final of the 8 best crews. The finalists then competed via the Knock-Out system with a single race. The finale saw homegrown heroes “The Ursus Hunters” and “Sick Dragons Slayerz 43” face off in three rounds full of tricks, creativity, and teamwork. In second and third place are the winning crews of the rail contest: Sick Dragons Slayerz 43 in second place and Team Kona in third. The Ursus Hunters team of Leo Framarin, Emil Zulian and Nicola Liviero (all former rookies) have been crowned the Red Bull Hammers’ best snowboarding team with Homies 2022.

The judges rewarded the team spirit, that is, the way the runners interacted with each other, highlighting the quality of the individual and the group, the creativity in the choice and interpretation of the structures and the figures created and the technicality of performing the maneuvers.

Red Bull Hammers With Homies turns out to be not just a competition, but a real snowboarding show that also caught everyone’s attention on the slopes.
