The Kia EV6 is expected to hit the Indian market this year. The electric crossover features a great design and comes with powerful battery-motor combinations.
In recent news, spy footage of the Kia EV6 has surfaced on the internet. Kia’s electric offering has been spotted on Indian roads for the first time. According to recent media reports, the Kia EV6 is expected to hit showrooms by the middle of this year via the CBU route. However, the question to be answered is – what will the Kia EV6 bring to the table? Well, read on to figure out everything you need to know about the upcoming Kia EV6.
How tall and beautiful is it?
The Kia EV6 is a decently sized vehicle, and with its futuristic design, it will attract a lot of attention from other road users. In terms of dimensions, it is 4,695mm long, 1,890mm wide and 1,545mm high. Moreover, it has a wheelbase of 2,900 mm.
Design-wise, the wedge-shaped silhouette is appealing and it looks tasteful from almost any angle. Kia’s “Opposites United” design language is used here, as is the case with the brand’s other crossovers. The overall design is eye-catching and the GT trim spotted in India is one of many configurations available overseas.
Got the push?
The Kia EV6 is on sale in overseas markets in a host of powertrain options. The list includes a 58 kWh battery, which can be installed in either a 170 hp RWD configuration or a 235 hp AWD configuration. A larger 77.4 kWh battery is also on the cards. It comes in two choices – an RWD configuration with a 229 hp engine and a 325 hp twin-motor configuration with an AWD layout. However, the top-of-the-range GT version is available with a peak power of 585 hp and a maximum torque of 740 Nm.
Is it loaded inside?
The answer to this question is – of course it is. The dual screen configuration inside makes the cabin look contemporary. In addition, the e-GMP skateboard deck elevates a lot of space inside. Additionally, the EV6 features an AR-capable head-up display, two-spoke steering wheel, connected car technology and a host of safety features. At the same time, ADAS functionalities are integrated. Whether the Indian model continues with the same feature list as the international models or if it gets a reduced one remains to be seen.
When does it launch?
Recent media reports confirm the arrival of the Kia EV6 crossover by the middle of this year. The launch is expected to take place in May or June of this year. However, Kia has been tight-lipped on the launch date of its next electric crossover.
How much will it cost?
The Kia EV6 is supposed to arrive in Indian market showrooms via the CBU route. Therefore, prices are expected to start from around Rs. 60 lakh, former showroom. As a result, the electric crossover is likely to rival the Volvo XC40 Recharge and more.
