PLEASANT HILL, Calif. — Police in Pleasant Hill and Clayton said Saturday they identified a vandalism suspect who was also found with bomb-making materials and explosive devices.
The suspect, a 27-year-old man, was located after an “active” investigation into a series of vandalisms in Pleasant Hill and Clayton, police said.
The investigation led to a search warrant at the man’s home on Friday in the 300 block of Longbrook Way. Pleasant Hill Police were assisted by the Walnut Creek Police Department’s bomb squad.

Officers located explosive materials and an explosive device, and “numerous” residents were evacuated from the area.
At this point, police said Contra Costa Hazmat County, ConFire Hazmat and the FBI responded to help.

The suspect was arrested without incident and taken to the county jail, police said.
