HOT SAUCE BRAND MAKES ONE OF THE MOST ENTERTAINING SKATE VIDEOS OF THE YEAR

Most people agree that Los Angeles looks like a boring place. Each high school has a perfect 12 step ramp and everything is made and inauthentic.

But Satan’s Drano, the only hot sauce brand for skateboarding, could change that. Their creator Bob LaSalle just released their first “Action Sports Lifestyle Video” with the perfect amount of guitar solos, wall skating and Mark Gonzales click bait. With this video, LA looks less like a cast for Jonah Hill’s new movie and more like a place someone would actually want to be.

After seeing countless skateboarders drop off their “Please vote for me for SOTY because I waited until the last week of the year to drop off six minutes of footage and a brand new board” it was awesome to just watching good friends skate and also having a lot of fun with a toy. Do yourself a favor and end your year with a big smile: boneless, leather vests, and Omar Hassan acting like an old man.

Q&A with designer Bob LaSalle

Are you the first hot sauce brand to release a skate video?
Almost certain, yes.

How would you describe the flavors of your hot sauce?
I’ll let Sophie, our CFO, take this one.

Sophie: First of all, we grow the majority of our peppers right here in our garden. This is what sets us apart from almost all other hot sauces. You can taste the difference in both freshness and daring.

In Goat Milk, habanero and pineapple come together to give your taste buds a tropical fruit inner tube floating on the Riviera Maya. The vaccine (Booster coming in January 2022), is all about the verdant, slightly earthy, jalapeño-serrano flavor – mild heat levels. The flavor concept behind our Minuscule batch series is classic super hot, with a bit of funk and depth from the fermentation cooking process. We use our super hots in it and try to let them do the talking – think Carolina Reaper, Trinidad Scorpion, and Bhut Jolokia. Kind of like Frank’s Red hot on meth. The flavor of our chili oil comes from a deep love of dumplings and all the condiments they are traditionally served in different Asian cuisines. It has a rich umami vibe thanks to the range of spices, shallots and garlic infused in the oil. The oil is mixed with our dehydrated ground Thai chili peppers and balanced with salt. We are always experimenting with new ingredients.

Why does it feel like Canadians are having the most fun skateboarding right now and making America look like a bunch of stiffs?
While I like this generalization, I don’t think it’s true. I know a lot of stiff Canadians and a lot of Americans who are having too much fun. Perhaps a small handful of Canadians who are good at pretending to have fun could be enough to make that impression. One thing I noticed though – over 70% of Americans openly like to laugh at the expense of Canadians.

Who do you think would skate better, Satan or God?
Personally, I think I would probably identify with Satan’s style more, but they would probably both be pretty dumb. I feel like God better turn his chessboard.

Has Mark Gonzales ever met Mark Gonzales? If so, how was it?
Can you make this happen? Mark would be so excited.

What inspired you to make this video?
Satan’s Drano is a pandemic joke that has gone too far. I used to travel a lot and ended up in the Greater LA area with a little extra time. Sophie and I transformed our backyard into a garden and we really got into making chili peppers and hot sauce. With my new work from home schedule, I was able to spend more time integrating into the local skate community and was able to build relationships with the coolest and most respected skateboarders in the area. .

Coincidentally, these are also the most talented skateboarders and some of them even wear leather jackets, crampons and / or denim jackets. Peppers, Hot Sauce, Mark Gonzales, Heavy Metal Chuck, Adam Benson and PYST Army Kyle inspired me to make this video. Second, I wanted to make my friends laugh while creating awareness and demand for our amazing Satan Hot Sauce within the endemic skateboarding community.

Your packaging looks pretty wild, are you actually selling all that shit?
Thank you. Yes, we have a pretty dedicated group of fans who buy our products. We predict that as more and more people taste Satan’s Drano, they will also become fans and learn to overcome my Photoshop shortcomings.
