HONOLULU (KHON2) – Runway 4R at Honolulu International Airport was suddenly closed on Friday morning at around 4:12 a.m. after a TransAir Short 360 propeller plane encountered gear problems and was forced to make an emergency landing.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, “the commuter plane landed with the gear pulled out.”

There were two people on board. No injuries were reported.
HDOT said the incident did not disrupt any flights and the department expects the closed runway to reopen later today.
The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate this incident.
