APPLE VALLEY, CA (VVNG.com) – At the March 22 meeting, Apple Valley City Council voted 5-0 to move forward with a phased approach to the future renovation of Hilltop House that will resemble the appearance of the existing structure.

At its April 12 meeting, Council will consider hiring Architerra Design Group to create a design concept as part of the City’s ongoing efforts to transform the iconic Hilltop House property into a viewing platform and trail. open concept.

“The goal has always been to transform the property into a usable public space and viewing deck and we are excited to continue that work,” said City Manager Doug Robertson. “We know how important this property is to the history and legacy of our community and this next step will bring us closer to preserving that history in a safe and interactive way.”

On February 17, the City issued a request for proposals seeking a design consultant to survey property lines, prepare an aerial survey, and create design and imagery panels.

According to a press release, the City received three proposals and interviewed the two most qualified firms.

“After interviews were completed, Architerra Design Group was selected by the staff as the most qualified to proceed with the project due to its previous experience in historic preservation and education, the strength of the team members of the project and innovative ideas in an attempt to preserve elements of the Hilltop House,” the press release said.

City Council will consider awarding a contract to Architerra at its April 12 meeting at 6:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers.
